The Best doTERRA Essential Oils for Menopause (How I Use Them)
The oils I recommend most for perimenopause and menopause, how I use each one, and my own daily routine from morning to evening.

“I’ve tried everything. Surely hot flushes, poor sleep and mood swings are just part of getting older?”
I hear this all the time.
The truth is, menopause is a natural transition, but that doesn’t mean you have to simply put up with the symptoms. While changing hormones play a role, they are only one piece of the puzzle. Your nervous system, stress levels, nutrition, sleep, inflammation and even your emotional wellbeing all influence how smoothly you move through this phase of life.
And this is not a fringe complaint. Hot flushes affect up to 74% of perimenopausal women, 65% of women have them for longer than 2 years, and 36% for longer than 5. Anyone who tells you to sit it out is asking you to sit out half a decade.
That is why I never look at menopause through just one lens.
In my practice, I combine lifestyle, nutrition, quantum frequency technology, and essential oils to support the body where it needs it most. One of the simplest and most effective tools I use every single day is doTERRA essential oils.
Here are my favourites.
ClaryCalm: My number one for this season of life
If there is one blend I recommend most often for women in perimenopause and menopause, it is ClaryCalm.
It was created specifically for women and combines Clary Sage, Lavender, Bergamot, Roman Chamomile, Geranium, Ylang Ylang, Fennel, Cedarwood, Carrot Seed, Palmarosa and Vitex.
Many women find it helps support:
- Hot flushes
- Mood swings
- Emotional balance
- Hormonal discomfort
- Better sleep
- Feeling calmer throughout the day
I usually recommend rolling it onto the lower abdomen, wrists and the back of the neck in the morning and again before bedtime.
Clary Sage
Clary Sage has long been known as one of the most supportive essential oils for women.
I love using it because it encourages relaxation and may help reduce the intensity of hot flushes while supporting emotional balance. It is also wonderful when life feels particularly stressful, because stress often makes menopause symptoms much worse.
Lavender
Sleep is one of the biggest struggles I see.
When women sleep better, everything else often becomes easier. Lavender helps calm the nervous system, settle a busy mind and prepare the body for restful sleep.
A few drops in the diffuser or on the soles of your feet before bed can become a lovely evening ritual.
Frankincense: My longevity oil
Frankincense is one oil I simply never want to be without.
I call it my longevity oil.
It supports healthy ageing, emotional wellbeing, healthy skin and a balanced inflammatory response. I use it daily as part of my wellness routine.
Balance
Some days menopause feels less about hormones and more about feeling completely overwhelmed.
Balance is my go-to grounding blend. I apply it to the soles of my feet every morning before I start my day. It helps me feel centred and calm, especially during busy periods.
Serenity
If your brain starts racing the moment your head touches the pillow, Serenity is beautiful.
It creates a peaceful atmosphere and supports deeper, more restorative sleep.
Peppermint
Peppermint is brilliant when a hot flush suddenly appears.
A diluted drop on the back of the neck often creates an immediate cooling sensation. I also use it whenever I need more focus or when brain fog starts creeping in.
Adaptiv
Menopause can make everyday stress feel much bigger than it used to.
Adaptiv helps support emotional resilience during challenging days. I often recommend it to women juggling careers, family and everything else life throws at them.
Geranium
Geranium is another wonderful women’s oil.
It supports healthy skin, emotional wellbeing and helps many women feel more balanced during hormonal transitions.

Essential oils are part of the picture
I often say this to my clients.
Essential oils are powerful, but they work best when the foundations are in place.
That means eating enough protein, staying hydrated, building muscle through strength training, getting morning sunlight, reducing chronic stress and creating healthy sleep habits.
When I work with women, I don’t guess.
I use quantum frequency technology to measure what is happening in the body, identify areas that need support and then create a personalised plan. For one woman the priority may be the nervous system. For another it could be the liver, gut health or chronic stress. Every body tells a different story.
That is why there is no single menopause solution.
But when you support your body in the right way, it is amazing how quickly things can begin to change.
Where to get these oils
If you would like to try any of these yourself, you can order them through my doTERRA page. I only work with oils I use myself, and I am happy to help you choose a starting point that fits what your body is asking for.
Menopause is not the beginning of your decline. It can become the beginning of your healthiest, strongest and most vibrant chapter yet.
Common questions
Which doTERRA oil is best for menopause?
For most women I start with ClaryCalm: It was created specifically for women and combines 11 oils that support hot flushes, mood, sleep and hormonal comfort. Rolled onto the lower abdomen, wrists and the back of the neck, morning and evening, it is the simplest place to begin.
What helps against hot flushes in the moment?
A diluted drop of Peppermint on the back of the neck often creates an immediate cooling sensation. For the longer line, Clary Sage and ClaryCalm support the intensity over time, and reducing chronic stress matters more than most women expect.
Do essential oils replace other menopause support?
No, and I am always clear about that. Oils work best when the foundations are in place: Protein, hydration, strength training, morning sunlight and healthy sleep habits. In my practice I measure first, so the support fits what your body actually asks for instead of a general list.
